Crunchbase’s first Diversity Spotlight Report underscores the extent to which minority entrepreneurs are largely shut out from participating in the wealth generated by the tech industry. So far in 2020, Black and Latino founders have raised just 2.6 percent of the total VC funding for US , despite the two demographic groups combining to make up 32 percent of the US population. Although this article notes that there are no quick fixes for systemic inequality, it highlights one area in the report that the venture industry can improve upon more immediately: seed-state funding.
