We help companies – really, we help people – grow and manage their workforce, by drawing on our experience to help our clients understand HR best practices. We help set up start-ups for success, so that their companies can grow and explore potential partnerships and transactions.
Experience: They have wonderful ideas – and the enthusiasm and excitement to build a successful company off those ideas. I also love developing a relationship with a company being built from the ground up, and getting to see them become successful. It’s an amazing and rewarding opportunity to be a part of that, particularly helping founders learn how to scale and manage a workforce.
Launch Moment: I’ve been able to see companies go from a single founder who hires themself as the first employee of their company, to just a couple of years later, talking to them about certain types of legal compliance that only applies to companies with 50 or more people.
Off the Clock: Travelling, spending time with my family, and all things soccer: coaching, watching, playing.
Recommendations: The SmartLess podcast, with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett always has cool and funny guests, and Shawshank is one of my go-to movies.
Memorable Travel: About 20 years ago, I went on a cross-country trip Crater Lake in Oregon in the middle of the summer with my college roommates. There was an incredibly beautiful two-and-half mile hike to get to the base of lake, and it seemed like a wonderful opportunity to jump in and cool off. The water turned out to be an invigorating 39 degrees. The photo taken of me jumping in last, is one of my favorites of all time.
