I love not just helping entrepreneurs solve legal problems, but also being able to provide them the benefit of my experience by assisting in navigating the myriad business decisions that they confront each day, ranging from designing employee equity compensation arrangements to developing intellectual property strategies to identifying optimal financing approaches.

Representative Experience: I have represented Vistaprint from its Series A round of financing through its IPO and to its expansion to a company with more than 30 million customers generating over a billion dollars in and with more than 5,000 employees across North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. I represented Alantos Pharmaceuticals from in connection with its initial conversion from a German corporation to a Delaware corporation and then through two of venture financing and ultimately to its sale to Amgen. I recently represented Empirix on a variety of ongoing matters culminating in its sale to Thoma Bravo.

Favorite Books: I love reading history, particularly about the Civil War. I think Battle Cry of Freedom by James McPherson is the best single-volume treatment of the Civil War and Michael Schaara’s The Killer is simply a masterpiece of historical fiction. On a lighter note, I have always been passionate about basketball and Bill Bradley’s Values of the Game distills the beauty of basketball and how the qualities that go into being a successful basketball player or team can be applied to life in general.

Off the Clock: I enjoy waterskiing (which I am pretty good at) and golf (which I am most definitely not good at). Watching my daughter’s high school sports teams play is also great fun.
