MIT was the birth place of modern finance in the 1960's and its focus on evolving finance continues to this day.
This past year alone saw some major developments. MIT launched the Bitcoin project, which provides students with Bitcoin to spend around the community. The Martin Trust Center for Entrepreneurship launched a finance initiative to spark innovations in finance throughout MIT. The MIT Sloan School of Management has created the Financial System 2.0 Forum to discuss the ever increasing role that technology is playing in the development of the finance system.
The MIT FinTech Conference will bring together entrepreneurs and thought leaders to discuss the most innovative business models and ideas that are changing the face of finance.
